This one’s the latest in breeding. It’s a self repairing rye grass from the states. As it matures it throws out short runners designed to thicken up the whole lawn and by doing so make it more drought tolerant than normal rye grass and much tighter. Don’t worry – its not invasive. Hardwearing and perfect for the home lawn. Mainly sun.

American tall fescue out of Oregon. Fine leaf variety which has a slightly rhizominous habit so it repairs itself quite well. Tough and drought tolerant because of its very deep root system. Full sun or full shade - it doesn’t care. Allow 12 days to germination but sow heavy to start with because its sulky when starting out. Show lawn.

Grows fast – up in 5 days. Ideal and well priced for the lifestyle block where you want something that looks better than a paddock but not something that needs loving care. Looks good if kept cut which is required more often than other varieties as it loves growing all the time. Recovers well after a big dry.

A blend of American fine fescues; chewings and creeping red. Very fine leaf almost needle like appearance, dark green and quite distinctive. It’s a showlawn that does sun or shade. Remember to fertilise it regularly when planted under trees and sow it heavy. Slow germinator.

Rye Clover is its other name. A blend of pasture rye grasses with 10% white clover. It’s cheap but tough. Suits the berm or maybe the rental property where it knows it won’t get a lot of love. It’s the one where something green will do the job nicely – that’s why it’s called “just grass”. Its other life is over sowing damaged pasture.

75% Tall Fescue, 20% chewings and creeping red fescue and 5% NZ browntop. It’s a real beauty in med-dark green. The Creeping Red in it will thicken the whole thing up – create a carpet the weeds will struggle to get through. The browntop is there for persistence and good alround balance. Leave the King a little longer in summer – maybe some water crystals, and it will look good right through the hot season when not much else does. It’s a showlawn and will take a bit of care to get it going but once established you’ll be very, very pleased. One of our most popular.
