TIMOTHY

(Phleum pratense L).   Timothy is a high quality perennial thats very palatable to stock even when seedheads appear (which is a little unusual).  Because its palatable and a poor competitor - it can easily get grazed out.  Really does like the cooler regions and heavier soils but will have a go in most spots.  A low sugar cow favourite.  Looks like a weed but we call it a herb.
