Blood and Bone is a natural slow release 100% organic fertiliser, (typically NPK 6:6:0) that boosts nitrogen for foliage ,phosphorous for roots, and enhances soil microbial activity.
Nutrients are released slowly as Blood and Bone requires the action of soil organisms to assist in releasing nitrogen and phosphorous and is therefore longer lasting.
Mix with Sulphate of Potash for a complete fertiliser.
Suitable for all plant types
It can be used on compost heaps and acts as a mild deterrent for pests like possums due to its odour
HOW TO USE BLOOD AND BONE FERTILISER
As a base application for seedlings spread one cup (200g) per square metre and water well.
When planting , compost and a handful of Blood and Bone fertiliser mixed into the soil in the bottom of the planting hole will give a head start.
After planting apply 1 cup (200g ) in early Spring, immediately after flowering and again in early Autumn. Work into the top 10cm of soil for good distribution.
Avoid applying Blood and Bone close to the plant trunk. Water well after spreading Blood and Bone fertiliser and continue to water during dry weather.
